Ron Gaines
Ron Gaines has always painted, sketched and had a passion for art. His talent earned him an opportunity to study and take art lessons at the De Young Art Museum in San Francisco at an early age. Gaines is a graduate of Boise State University where he studied business, drafting, graphics design and music.
Gaines was introduced to sculpting by a very good friend and artist Dean Estes. In a very short time, Gaines has become friends and associates with many of the worlds leading and most renowned wildlife painters and sculptors. Gaines studies the art styles of past master artists as well as the most current. Sculptor Walter Matia entirely changed his life and outlook as an artist. Walter gave him the visual/ observational tools to move forward with a passion. He has been a true God-send with his time, tutelage, and friendship. Gaines' art is a continuing effort to capture a unique/ personal blend of realism and impressionism while maintaining a rendition of traditional and classic bronze. Rock like features and textures, stone outcroppings and mountainous slate play a major roll in the look and feel of all his work. Both in wildlife and figurative art, Gaines has a passion to bring movement and drama to each creation. |
